It was a good night indeed!
Brian and Ami gave each one a symbolic gift signifying their individual spiritual gifts
and also brought a direct word of encouragement to each.
Ami led worship. Prayers were sent up for each of the grads. completing their Project 12 year.
Treats and fellowship followed -and we were and are truly blessed!
Here is a transcript of Glenn’s message verbatim:
P12 Dec. ’07 Graduation Message
Mal. 3.16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke one with another; and the LORD listened, and heard, and a book of memory was written before him, for those who feared Him, and that thought on His name. 17 They shall be Mine, says the LORD of Hosts, even My own possession, in the day that I make; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him. 18 So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
Mk. 10.42 Jesus called them to him, and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 43 But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you, will be your servant. 44 Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be servant of all. 45 For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Gal 5.13 For you, brothers and sisters, were called for freedom. Only don`t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.
Lk. 22.27 For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn`t it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
Radical Christianity, Real Christianity, Relevant Christianity is this: Jesus Christ among us, working through us, by God the Holy Spirit moving through us in LOVING SERVICE of one another by the gifts He has given us. Let me repeat this! (repeats)
Project 12 Grads: we have been blessed by your presence, we’re proud of your work in and out of class, one-on-one’s, small groups, practical daily service at JPUSA and so much more. We are encouraged by your growth in accountability, relationships and of course that you finished what you started: the Project 12 discipleship year!
Now comes the transition. No matter where God leads you, no matter His calling and no matter the gifts He’s given each of you- may we have sufficiently ruined you for the world that you recognize His love, His truth and the relationships you have with others IN HIM, BECAUSE of HIM- may you realize that these are the most important, even ETERNAL things you possess!
Jesus told them and tells us- “I am among you as one who serves”. Paul reminds us- “through love be servants to one another”.
A genuine love that genuinely serves others is the very call we all share. May God guide each of you, bless each of you and confirm in each of your hearts His plan of loving service. The longer you follow God, the more you will come to realize that such a life is the -only- life worth living.
On behalf of the Project 12 Staff- God BLESS each of you as you follow Jesus and His call! Amen.
